El jesuita morisco P. Ignacio de las Casas colaboró en la traducción de algunos de los libros plúmbeos encontrados en Granada a fines del siglo XVI. Inicialmente se manifestó partidario de su autenticidad, pero pronto se convenció de que eran una falsificación. Desarrolló entonces una activa lucha para conseguir que la Iglesia evitara su divulgación. En el artículo se pasa revista a su intervención como traductor y a los argumentos que utilizó para criticar la doctrina de los libros plúmbeos. El (...) P. Las Casas, además de señalar la presencia de elementos islámicos, ve en ellos claras muestras de antiguas herejías antitrinitarias. Aunque no los considera obra de moriscos, señala el atractivo que el mesianismo y milenarismo contenidos en la doctrina de los libros plúmbeos tenía para los moriscos. (shrink)

Tomando como ponto de partida o diálogo "Clara", escrito por Schelling, o autor faz da conexão da Natureza com o Espírito o fio condutor da trajetória do pensamento schellinguiano. É, antes de tudo, na disputa com as filosofias de Fichte e Hegel, que se revela a convergência entre a concepção transcendental do Espírito e a filosofia da Natureza, dando-se assim a entender a importância de um conceito especulativo da Natureza como acesso ao mundo real. Taking the dialogue "Clara", (...) written by Schelling, as a starting point, the author uses the conection of Nature with the Spirit as a guiding line for his exposition of Schelling’s thought. It is, above all, the dispute with the philosophies of Fichte e Hegel that reveals the convergence between a transcendental conception of Spirit and the philosophy of Nature. Thus, the author implies the importance of speculative concept of Nature as an access to the real world. (shrink)

La Modernidad ha sido el escenario de su propia crisis ¿Acaso estaba ésta abocada a su quiebra? ¿Son la razón instrumental, el nazismo, el nihilismo o el capitalismo los hijos monstruosos de una Ilustración realizada? ¿Y el patriarcado?¿No ha sido también la razón una proclama masculina? Pretendemos defender que tanto la lucha feminista como el marxismo necesitan en el siglo XXI recuperar una Ilustración que no se ha realizado en la técnica, en los campos de concentración o en la nada (...) social que produce el capitalismo, sino en los resquicios rebeldes de una historia de vencedores y perdedores. La breve historia de la tradición republicana es la historia de una derrota política que la izquierda no debería olvidar. Se quiere, por tanto, defender a la Ilustración de ese olvido y, para ello, explicar qué sería una Ilustración republicana y en qué sentido es imprescindible —tanto para el feminismo como para el marxismo— en tiempos tan críticos. Parental burnout is a unique and context-specific syndrome resulting from a chronic imbalance of risks over resources in the parenting domain. The current research aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Parental Burnout Assessment across Spanish-speaking countries with two consecutive studies. In Study 1, we analyzed the data through a bifactor model within an Exploratory Structural Equation Modeling on the pooled sample of participants obtaining good fit indices. We then attained measurement invariance across both gender (...) and countries in a set of nested models with gradually increasing parameter constraints. Latent means comparisons across countries showed that among the participants’ countries, Chile had the highest parental burnout score, likewise, comparisons across gender evidenced that mothers displayed higher scores than fathers, as shown in previous studies. Reliability coefficients were high. In Study 2, we tested the relations between parental burnout and three specific consequences, i.e., escape and suicidal ideations, parental neglect, and parental violence toward one’s children. The medium to large associations found provided support for the PBA’s predictive validity. Overall, we concluded that the Spanish version of the PBA has good psychometric properties. The results support its relevance for the assessment of parental burnout among Spanish-speaking parents, offering new opportunities for cross-cultural research in the parenting domain. (shrink)

El libro de Alex Ibarra, Filosofía chilena. La tradición analítica en el periodo de la institucionalización de la filosofía, plantea la discusión sobre las líneas filosóficas, demostrando la existencia de cierta tradición analítica en Chile. A partir de allí, reflexionamos en torno a los procesos de constitución del campo de la filosofía en Chile como una historia atravesada por la necesidad de préstamos y cruces que impiden una delimitación clara de sus límites, lo que tornaría necesaria la atención a (...) ciertas políticas de la lectura que el libro soslaya. La productividad de la filosofía producida en Chile surgiría gracias -y no pese- a su inscripción en sus tiempos y espacios, a partir de recepciones cuya ausencia de retraso no impide el gesto de cierto re-trazo de lo leído. Alex Ibarra's exposition in his book Filosofía chilena. La tradición analítica en el periodo de la institucionalización de la filosofía, places the discussion on the philosophical traditions, showing the existence of a certain kind of analytical tradition in Chile. From there, we expose the processes of constitution of the field in Chile as a history crossed by the need of importations and intersections that contest the clear delimitation of its boundaries, what makes necessary the attention of the politics of readings that the book avoid. The productivity of the philosophic production in Chile, arises thanks to -but not in spite of- its inscription in its age/times and spaces, coming from its receptions and its differences. (shrink)

Résumé Dans l’Histoire d’une Grecque moderne de Prévost (1740), plusieurs traits de style apparentent l’écriture romanesque à la galanterie littéraire, emblématisée au siècle précédent par Racine ou Lafayette ; c’est le cas en particulier de l’association à l’article indéfini des expressions qui désignent le personnage féminin. Trait de genre (la nouvelle historique et galante), mais aussi d’époque (le long XVIIe siècle), ce tour devient sous la plume de Prévost un marqueur de son style d’auteur. Toutefois, sous l’apparence de la continuité, (...) la valeur et le sens de ce legs stylistique se voient reconfigurés de fond en comble : Prévost orchestre un véritable détournement du style galant. En récupérant l’un des traits par lesquels la langue galante signalait sa littérarité et en l’accommodant à ses propres enjeux romanesques, au risque d’en modifier la signification en profondeur, Prévost offre un cas d’école pour s’interroger sur la propriété des faits de style. Dans une lettre à son épouse, Sade fait l'éloge de la bizarrerie et l’élève au rang de catégorie esthétique sous le nom de « principe de délicatesse ». Cela peut sembler paradoxal, comme l'a bien remarqué Michel Delon, que celui qui énonce le devoir de délicatesse est celui-là même dont le nom est devenu synonyme de brutalité. Le terme est en effet ambigu et possède dans l'oeuvre du marquis plusieurs sens: de l'échange de soins entre Juliette et sa maîtresse préférée (...) La Durand, en passant par une simple manie sexuelle, jusqu'à la fantaisie « la plus bizarre et la plus singulière de toutes », celle qui dépend d'une richesse fastueuse et qui ne s'achève que sur un tas de corps baignés de sang. Il s'agit d'abord d'examiner les différents sens du terme chez Sade ; puis d'analyser les interprétations que Roland Barthes, Annie Le Brun et Michel Delon donnent de la délicatesse scélérate ; enfin de mettre en évidence sa spécificité par rapport à la prodigalité luxurieuse. En la siguiente exposición se propone un comentario de la obra del filósofo cubano Pablo Guadarrama González, denominada Pensamiento filosófico latinoamericano. Humanismo, método e historia. La perspectiva humanista que es postulada contiene una serie de precisiones que son analizadas en sus implicaciones teóricas y prácticas. Asimismo, se extiende su estudio de las ideas filosóficas a distintos momentos del desarrollo particular seguido en América Latina, al igual que está acompañada esta tarea historiográfica de consideraciones metodológicas que resultan significativas. Desde el conjunto (...) de temas planteados por el autor se retoman sus aportes en relación a debates que se inscriben en el cruce disciplinario de la filosofía y la historia de las ideas, que se ubican inicialmente en el contexto latinoamericano pero aspiran a una proyección con alcances universales. We comment the Cuban philosopher Pablo Guadarrama González’s Latin American philosophical thinking. Humanism, method and history. The humanistic perspective posited therein contains some assumptions that we analyze in their theoretical and practical implications. Furthermore, we extend his study of philosophical ideas to different moments of Latin America’s particular development, being this historiographic task accompanied by significant methodological considerations. Of all the themes posed by this author, we take his contributions to the debates raised in the interdisciplinary intersection of philosophy and the history of ideas, initially located in a Latin American context but with universal projection. Therefore, the recognition of the realm of universal values, a sector of which forms the ethos of a given age, has to be supplemented by that of the order of the time with its individual values and claims. The immense wealth of Greek and Latin Christian epistolography shows that in the first five centuries, the type of the letter reflects particularly the numerous topics in which theological and doctrinal issues, ecclesial and liturgical matters, and moral and social developmental questions are addressed. The epistolary genre increasingly becomes richer and more diversified as each letter bears witness to the faith and culture of its author. The pedagogical purpose remains dominant while the contents reflect the many issues and problems that (...) concern both the sender and receiver in matters of doctrine, the Church, and the reality of social life. The line of argument and style indicate at the same time the author’s culture and heritage as received from the classical tradition. (shrink)

The present study propose a comparison between Origen and Ambrose with regard to Magnificat’s exegesis: Origen (HLc VIII) explain the hymn for above all to prove the manifestation of the Spirit in Mary and in Mary as well as in every perfect soul but the soul’s perfection be realized only by using virtuous life following the virtuous Mary’s example. Whereas the Ambrose’s exegesis (Exp. in Lc. 2,26-28) emphasize the Mary’s faith, model for our faith. “Anima mea magnificat Dominum” in Origen’s (...) exegesis convey primarily a psychic and spiritual typus while a ethic typus in Ambrose's interpretation. The shelters erected by migrants expelled at the frontier between Mali and Algeria show how, in a situation of extreme abandonment and isolation, migrants not only organise their own survival but also develop strategies to overcome the coercion that the State apparatus exerts upon them. This book introduces readers to central concepts and ideas in Mexican philosophy. Couched in stories and anecdotes from the author's life, the book offers these concepts and ideas as orientations, recommendations, or exhortation for navigating today's world. The structure and the style of the book aims at making these accessible to both specialists and non-specialist or anyone who may have had some experience with contemporary forms of marginalization, alienation, objectification, or any of the various forms of dread and accidentality familiar (...) to modern life. This, the author thinks, is most of us. Narrowing down the scope of the tradition, the author draws from the history of Mexican philosophy in the 20th century, as it is at this time that Mexican philosophy comes into its own. The book begins with two short introductions, one is an introduction philosophy in Mexico, the other to Mexican philosophy. Here, readers are introduced to Alfonso de la Veracruz, who offered the first philosophy course in the Americas in 1540 in the monastery of a small town in Michoacán, Mexico. From there, it presents four main themes from Mexican philosophy that recur in the philosophical literature. The remainder of the book serves as a "guide" for living a better, more fulfilling life. The main characters in what the author considers an uncontroversial retelling of Mexican philosophy are Antonio Caso, Samuel Ramos, Emilio Uranga, Leopoldo Zea, Jorge Portilla, Rosario Castellanos, Elsa Cecilia Frost, and, of course, persons in the author's own life. Dentro del epistolario de Francisco Romero, que permanece inédito, se analizan las cartas que intercambió con el filósofo personalista Edgar S. Brightman (1884-1953), como así también se alude a otros representantes dentro del movimiento en EEUU. Este escrito se apoya en la hipótesis del interés compartido por esta corriente de ideas dentro de los años que van desde la II Guerra Mundial hasta los inicios de la llamada Guerra Fría. Se alude también al propósito de ambos corresponsales por acercar la (...) filosofía estadounidense y la desarrollada en América Latina. Las cartas en el repositorio se extienden entre 1939 y 1952. Se incluye como anexo la nota necrológica sobre Brightman redactada por José Vasconcelos con el fin de mostrar que su filosofía interesaba también en otros países latinoamericanos. Within the unpublished epistolary collection of Francisco Romero, this work analyses the letters that were exchanged with the personalist philosopher Edgar S. Brightman (1884-1953), and it also refers to others representative philosophers inside the American Personalist movement. The hypothesis is that both maintain a mutual interest for these ideas during World War II until the beginnings of the so called Cold War. It also refers to the purpose of both correspondents to come closer American and Latin American philosophy. The letters in the collection were written between 1939 and 1952. This paper includes as appendix the obituary authored by José Vasconcelos about Brightman to show that his philosophy was of interest in other Latin American countries. (shrink)

Dentro de su variedad de temas, el eje de la investigación rastrea las contribuciones de autores nacionales que cuestionaron la propia identidad argentina. Dentro del período se estudian las opiniones que, como respuestas, aparecieron ante los artículos de Ortega y Gasset referidos "al hombre a la defensiva" y a "la pampa, promesas"; la discusión sobre el rol de los intelectuales; los interrogantes sobre una supuesta "nueva generación"; las tipologías (...) de un imaginario "ser argentino"; el vínculo entre arte y política, como la función del deporte. Igualmente el artículo recoge las reflexiones suscitadas por las diferentes encuestas lanzadas por la Revista; el suicidio de Lugones, y aquellos aspectos que nos acercan a miradas en busca de un sí mismos, donde los protagonistas se debatían en la encrucijada intelectual y política, tal como aparecieron en esta emblemática publicación. ENGLISH: This article analyses the Journal Nosotros (1907-1943) during the 1930's. The main focus of the research is to identify the contributions by national authors that questioned the Argentinean identity. In particular, this study explores the opinions that were published in response to articles from Ortega y Gasset about "el hombre a la defensiva" and "la pampa, promesas"; discussions on the role of intellectuals; inquiries about a supposed "new generation"; the typologies of an imaginary "Argentinean being"; the links between art and politics; and the role of sports. The article also discusses the ideas raised by different surveys launched by the Journal; the suicide of Lugones, and views on the search of the self, in which the protagonists debated the intellectual and political crossroads that were presented by Nosotros. In the late 1940s in Spain, a group of young scholars, most of them newly appointed university lecturers, gained control of Arbor, the promotional journal of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC: The Spanish National Research Council), the institution that General Franco had founded after the Spanish Civil War (1936–9) to organize Spanish science. This group constituted the intellectual core of the more reactionary, Catholic traditionalist faction of Franco’s regime, and they coveted greater political power, in competition with other (...) factions of the regime. Lacking the opportunity to launch an overt political campaign within a dictatorship, the group started a fight for the cultural conquest of Spain. In this cultural struggle for hegemony, journals, magazines, cultural associations, publishing houses, newspapers, and cultural centers became their weapons. By analyzing this faction’s views on and activities within the popularization of science, particularly regarding theories of evolution, this article argues that popular discourse on science played a critical role in the cultural struggle both as a “safe” channel in which to forward their claims and as a tool to gather popular attention through topics of general interest. A covert political campaign was conducted through the popularization of science and this, in turn, fueled the construction of a public sphere for science in a dictatorial context. Scientific popularization became a much-appreciated tool to achieve cultural hegemony and, as such, it also became a central element in constructing and legitimating the ideological foundations of Franco’s regime. This paper explores various notions of aesthetic affordance recently developed through embodied, situated and enactive approaches to aesthetic experience by Maria Brincker and Shaun Gallagher, and the similarities and differences between them and the idea of affective affordance put forward by Joel Krueger and Giovanna Colombetti. This discussion is a way to try to offer some answers to the question of what aesthetic affordances particularly afford compared to affective affordances. I will focus on the affordances that we perceive during various (...) aesthetic experiences in which we find ourselves more moved by the object, event or person(s) causing the experience than we had anticipated. I will argue that these experiences emerge as opportunities to carry out an active exploration of aspects of the narrative self that we feel is related to features of the experience; and that one particular brain network likely to be involved in these experiences – i.e. the default network – might help us to understand how these experiences meaningfully change our relationship with ourselves and with the social context of which we are a part. In the present work, we will analyze the concept of intuition mainly in relation to the epistemological and the metaphysical theses of Schopenhauerian theory. In the first section, we will discuss the central axes of Schopenhauer’s metaphysical system, especially regarding the concept of will (Wille) and the relationship that this entails with his theory of knowledge. Then, we will examine the difference that the German philosopher establishes between representative —or mediated— rational knowledge and direct —or immediate— intuitive knowledge. Likewise, we (...) will trace at first the theses and the fundamental problems of the dualism of representation and we will furtherly establish the problem of the intuition of one’s own body. Finally, we will consider the scope and the limits of intuition, as well as its different variants: mainly aesthetic intuition and its culmination in mystical intuition. (shrink)

La pensée de Ricardo Sánchez Ortiz de Urbina n’a cessé de s’approfondir, sans toujours laisser le temps à ses lecteurs de reprendre leur souffle. La halte que représente « Que diez años es mucho… », dut ainsi être accueillie avec soulagement et reconnaissance! Situé à mi-parcours entre les écrits proprement stromatologiques et ceux qui donneront naissance à Orden oculto (2021), ne laissant rien pressentir des plus récentes percées, ce texte néanmoins rassemble avec patience et rigueur des années de réflexion sur (...) le sens d’une philosophie qui s’opère au niveau de l’eikôn et du microscopique, sans renoncer à son caractère systématique. Il constitue un préalable nécessaire à la bonne compréhension de l’épistémologie phénoménologique que RSOU bâtira quelques années plus tard. Surtout, il fournit un complément indispensable à ce que nous nous proposons d’appeler sa « perspective stromatologique » : celle qui entend révéler, dans la Sache, une diversité de couches (stromata) tenues ensemble par une structure « foliatile », la superposition ou le millefeuille des niveaux ainsi articulés. Seulement une philosophie des stromata phénoménologiques ne fait pas encore un monde. D’autres paramètres conceptuels sont requis, plus englobants ; qui n’avaient peut-être encore jamais fait l’objet d’un traitement systématique sous la plume de Ricardo. Le risque de confusion entre ces termes est désormais conjuré. (shrink)

La eclosión de las neurodisciplinas está conectada con el amplio y creciente uso de neuroimágenes en neurociencia cognitiva, en particular de las obtenidas mediante resonancia magnética funcional. Sin embargo, la aplicación de estudios sobre el cerebro basados en esta técnica a la filosofía, la ética o el derecho, entre otros campos, no es tan clara como a veces se supone y encuentra importantes limitaciones.

En la actualidad algunas de las tradicionales diferencias entre lo rural y lo urbano se van haciendo menos claras y existe una corriente de pensamiento denominada nueva ruralidad, para designar los cambios ocurridos en las sociedades agrarias con la ampliación de la pluriactividad no agrícola de los campesinos y en las ciudades con la llamada agricultura periurbana e incluso urbana. Actualmente entre el campo y la ciudad existen mayores interconexiones que en el pasado, dando lugar a que el engranaje entre (...) ambos se intensifique y, en algunas partes (principalmente en los países desarrollados) algunas ciudades de hacen más “rurales” (huertos familiares) y el campo se “urbaniza” por el acceso a servicios metropoli-tanos (drenaje, electricidad, telefonía, etc.) y por la instalación en el medio rural de industrias y establecimientos de servi-cios otrora inexistentes. Los vínculos entre los dos sectores se han intensificado y se complejizan, lo que se expresa en la diversificación de actividades y de relaciones que antes no se presentaban, todo lo anterior dentro del marco de una mayor integración de la agricultura al mercado internacional. Sin embargo en el nuevo panorama de mayor articulación entre ambos sectores, persiste la antagónica relación entre campo-ciudad ya que la contradicción agricultura-industria, no ha desaparecido, por el contrario, se volvió más compleja; y esta variación la neoruralidad sólo la describe, sin llegar a constituir un nuevo paradigma explicativo. Vivimos en un mundo en el que visitar un museo, escuchar música o leer se ha convertido para muchos en algo corriente. Lejos quedan ya otras épocas en las que solo una minoría podía leer libros o asistir a grandes conciertos. Estamos acostumbrados a movernos en entornos en los que entrar en contacto con realidades artísticas resulta algo relativamente fácil y accesible. Sin embargo, si nos parásemos a reflexionar acerca del verdadero significado del arte, de su ser y naturaleza intrínseca, (...) muchos serían los sorprendidos por no tener una respuesta clara y concisa a tal cuestión, puede incluso que si conociésemos realmente su cometido le dedicásemos más tiempo a contemplar y a disfrutar las obras existentes. Intentar acotar, definir y enmarcar lo artístico, no es cuestión baladí. Acotar el concepto de arte nos permite entrar en contacto con lo sublime, con aquello que necesitamos, pero no sabemos en qué medida ni cómo atraparlo. El rápido acceso técnico o tecnológico no está proporcionalmente relacionado con el interés artístico. Muchos son los que esperan el momento de su jubilación para poder disfrutar del arte, otros, sin embargo, frecuentan ámbitos culturales para proyectar sobre los demás una imagen concreta de sí mismos, más allá de sus intereses personales, y hay quienes simplemente piensan que el arte no va con ellos porque sus vidas son demasiado activas y no les interesa invertir ni su tiempo ni su dinero en algo que requiere reposo, calma. Algunas personas consideran que el arte es una cuestión puramente decorativa; tener libros, obras o discos adorna, hace las estancias más hermosas, tratándose aquí el arte de un elemento puramente ornamental. En el último grupo situamos a los interesados realmente por estas cuestiones, teóricos y prácticos, creadores o no creadores que buscan en el ámbito artístico aquello que no encuentran en sus propias vidas o, simplemente, lo que las nutre profundamente. Pero ¿qué es una obra de arte? y ¿en qué consiste? La pregunta artística es una pregunta antropológica, filosófica. Para comprender el arte hace falta ir más allá de lo aparente, de lo concreto, necesitando así de la fenomenológica, donde lo importante consiste en la relación que establecemos con lo que nos interpela como sujetos. Comprendiendo la verdad de una composición, si la composición es propiamente artística, estaremos comprendiéndonos a nosotros mismos. En esta línea analizaremos el pensamiento del polaco Roman Ingarden y su propuesta concreta en torno a la obra de arte literaria como fundamento de la estética moderna. Perseguimos así una comprensión artística promoviendo su anatomía esencial, su ontología y epistemología dentro de la teoría literaria. (shrink)

This paper proposes a reassessment of Hegel’s critical reading of Spinoza and of the charge of acosmism, for which this reading is known. We argue that this charge is actually the consequence of a more fundamental criticism, namely Spinoza’s presumable inability to conceive the unity of the finite and the infinite. According to Hegel, the infinite and the finite remain two poles apart in Spinoza’s metaphysics, which thus fails to be a true monism, insofar as it contains an irreducible duality. (...) Against this reading, we argue that Spinoza’s conception of the causal co-determination of finite modes entails the acknowledgment of their essentially infinite nature. The study of this particular instance of coincidentia oppositorum enables to counter some of Hegel’s criticisms as well as to illuminate a fairly unexplored aspect of Spinoza’s substance monism. Objective: to determine the relationship between personal management and financial anxiety during COVID-19 times among residents of Northern Peru. Financial mismanagement, as a result of disorder in management and financial anxiety, leads to economic difficulties that can deteriorate citizens' health. Methodology: the approach was quantitative, of a basic type, at a descriptive correlational level, and included a sample of 360 residents from Northern Peru. Results: According to Spearman's Rho correlation, there is a negative correlation (r = -0.119) with a significance (...) of 0.024, which is less than 0.05. This indicates inadequate personal management knowledge that generated financial anxiety among the inhabitants of Northern Peru, due to the economic situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Contribution: about health emergency, the risk and the possibility of knowledge in personal, social management warrants understanding the human person from various perspectives: economic, social, educational, legal, and political in a highly complex world. ABSTRACTWhile the emergence of a new scientific culture in 16th-century Europe is well known, the role of the actors of the Hispanic New World in this time of renewal of knowledge has long been judged marginal for two reasons: first, because the strong presence of the Inquisition in the Hispanic World has been considered by historians to have been an obstacle for research or scientific innovation; and second, because the discontinuity of the territories of the Hispanic Monarchy and the problem (...) of distances between Spain and the New World have long been interpreted in ways that suggest the marginality and peripheral status of the American colonies. However, some works counterbalance this dismissal and shed new light on the scientific activity of the Hispanic New World. This is the case with the treatise Arte de los Metales, by the secular priest Alvaro Alonso Barba, which would achieve remarkable fame and circulation, and would become a seminal work in the fields of metallurgy and mining until the mid-1700s. The article demonstrates that this treatise also presents ideas that can be traced back to a set of Paracelsian ideas combining alchemy, pharmacopoeia, and medicine, and studies specific examples of these ideas – the description of three fundamental substances as components of all matter, references to Epatica sulfuris, an oil capable of turning silver into gold and curing certain diseases; and the use of antimony – that together testify to the spread of the ideas of Basil Valentine and of Paracelsian influences. From this point of view, Arte de los Metales can be viewed as part of a tradition unexpectedly renewed by the author through many observations based on his own work in Peru and the discoveries he made thanks to alternative techniques. This demonstrates the richness and diversity of knowledge rooted in the New World, and links Alonso Barba’s scholarly activity to some of the great schools of thought that spanned the Early Modern European world. Two populations are subdivided into two categories of individuals (hawks and doves). Individuals fight to have access to a resource which is necessary for their survival. Conflicts occur between individuals belonging to the same population and to different populations. We investigate the long term effects of the conflicts on the stability of the community. The modelis a set of ODE's with four variables corresponding to hawk and dove individuals of the two populations. Two time scales are considered. A fast time (...) scale is used to describe frequent encounters and fightings between individuals trying to monopolize the resource. A slow time scale is used for the demography and the long term effects of encounters. We use aggregation methods in order to reduce this model into a system of two ODE's only for the total densities of the two populations which is found to be a classical Lotka-Volterra competition model. We study different cases of proportions of hawks and doves in both populations on the global coexistence and the mutal exclusion of the two populations. Pure dove tactics in both populations are unstable. In cases of mixed hawk and dove in both populations, there is coexistence. Pure dove or mixed hawk-dove tactics in one population can coexist with pure hawks in the other one when the costs of fightings between hawks are large enough. (shrink)

Since its origin, the city of Puebla has had representative elements in its public spaces that have survived for a long time, they are ornamental and utilitarian objects which are landmarks of the city. Street furniture is a benchmark of identity too. All elements have legends, they are references that have given identity to streets and avenues. Natural elements also refer to a city’s identity, like trees. But the natural element that defined origin, trace and growth of the city is (...) one of the least visible. In the sixties, the San Francisco River was piped, as a sign of the new modernity, and today it is a boulevard where thousands of cars pass. Thus, bridges and other types of elements that the population still remember, mainly the elderly, have been forgotten. In recent years, some initiatives have emerged to rescue the historical memory of daily life and the revaluation of repre­sentative objects of the city center, such as the Casa Analco Community Museum project, coordinated by the Faculty of Architecture of BUAP in collaboration with residents of the Analco neighborhood. This article discusses both the monuments, their relics, elements of nature that shape the city's identity, as well as the gradual loss of these symbols. (shrink)

The core aim of this paper is to analyse one of the main problems of Chrysippus’s cognitive theory of passion, that is, how to explain that the false judgement, and therefore a weak one, which defines a passion, turns into a strong and violent horme. The case of Medea, which is paradigmatic of this difficulty, receives special attention. Posidonius’s solution shows that the affective movements (pathetikai kineseis), which involve, according to Galen, another irrational part of the soul, are the cause (...) of excessive impulse. Nevertheless, my intention is to develop the theory of the salience of beliefs (Nussbaum, Graver) to show that Chrysippus’s cognitive theory is flexible enough to explain Medea’s case in terms of beliefs and that it is not necessary to resort to an irrational part of the soul to solve the problem posed. The main idea is that a belief can be weak and false but it can acquire a prominent place regarding the other beliefs (even when they are true) and, in that sense, have a greater causal power. Resumen: Con el fin de encontrar una configuración pertinente para la teología práctica en el actual contexto teológico, este articulo propone comprenderla y practicarla como teología de la acción. Se identifica primero la presencia de una dimensión práctica en las teologías premodernas, lo cual señala una nota fundamental del saber teológico y sirve de antecedente a nuestra subdisciplina. Hecho esto, se analizan los enfoques históricos más relevantes en la teología práctica como subdisciplina: uno centrado en los oficios del pastor con (...) un modelo aplicativo, otro enfocado en las prácticas eclesiales con un procedimiento deductivo y un tercero abierto a la actividad humana con una dinámica correlacional. Para profundizar este tercer enfoque, se presenta una propuesta metodológica en su comprensión de base y su actualización procedimental. En lo primero, se acoge la metáfora de la conversación continúa; en lo segundo, se desarrollan las dinámicas de la percepción, análisis y planificación. Comprender la teología práctica como teología de la acción implica asumir con radicalidad la convicción de que la correlación entre la acción de Dios y la acción humana, que dinamiza la experiencia de revelación-fe, debe fecundar también los caminos de la reflexión teológica. Abstract: With a view to configuring practical theology in the present theological context, this article suggests understanding it and practice it as a theology of action. The analysis, therefore, starts with identifying the presence of a practical dimension in pre-modern theologies, which points out a fundamental aspect of theological knowledge and serves as a forerunner of our modern sub-discipline. After that, the most relevant historical approaches in practical theology as a subdiscipline are described: the first one, centres on the pastor's duties using an applicative model, the second, focuses on ecclesial practices adopting a deductive procedure and the third one, looks at human activity through a correlational dynamic. To develop this third approach, the mutually critical correlation is developed in its basic understanding and its procedural implementation. For the first, the metaphor of the ongoing conversation is embraced; for the second, the dynamics of perception, analysis and planning are developed. Doing practical theology as theology of action implies radically holding firm the conviction that the correlation between God's action and human action, which energizes the experience of revelation-faith, must also inform and nurture the paths of theological reflection. A principios del siglo XX se produjo la distinción entre conocimientos físicos clásicos y conocimientos físicos cuánticos. Con la relatividad especial (el espacio-tiempo y la equiparación de energía y materia), culmina la física clásica; y con la cuantización de Planck, se inicia una física nueva, con extrañas síntesis sin identidad: transprobabilidad. Pero, en 1915, apareció una distinción aún más profunda, la de los conocimientos propios (que engloban lo clásico y lo cuántico), y los conocimientos impropios. Todo empezó cuando, en la (...) relatividad general de Einstein, no estaba claro que se cumpliese el principio sagrado de la conservación de la energía. Hilbert afirmó (su famosa Behauptung) que se trataba de un conocimiento impropio; pero no supo explicar el porqué. Fue la matemática Emmy Noether, experta en invariantes, la que, con sus dos teoremas de 1918, explicó la diferencia radical entre conocimientos propios (conservación de la energía, de los momentos lineal y angular, de las “cargas”...), y los conocimientos impropios (segundo teorema). Pero la razón más profunda de la conservación impropia, que Noether encontró en los grupos de infinito no enumerable de Lie, está en el campo intencional de la fenomenología renovada. La encontramos cuando se recorre el campo intencional no “desde arriba hacia abajo” (el movimiento de la mínima acción), sino “desde abajo hacia arriba”: la simple invariancia sin atención al movimiento. Y ahí encontramos la sorprendente identidad del arte, frente a la identidad de la ciencia. El arte es una forma de conocimiento impropio, fuerte y englobante. (shrink)

El campo de la comunicación es un área de estudio de transcendencia global y con el desarrollo y auge de importantes tecnologías, han devenido en nuevos paradigmas sociales causales de los procesos de cambio impulsados por la mayor circulación de información y comunicación en un entorno global en el que la alfabetización mediática vista como un dominio progresivo promoviendo la comunicación, ha sido un desafío en su práctica y la investigación. El artículo ofrece una propuesta para incorporar en aulas universitarias (...) procesos de alfabetización mediática e informacional, revirtiendo así en prácticas atractivas y reales adaptadas a los nuevos retos educativos. El presente artículo explora la presencia de un principio dialógico en la configuración de las subjetividades que interactúan en Level Five de Chris Marker con el objetivo de matizar la metáfora crítica que califica de forma consistente el cine del director francés como ejemplo del autorretrato. Mediante el concepto bajtiniano de “devenir ideológico”, el texto presta especial atención a la creciente importancia que juegan las tecnologías de la comunicación en los procesos de reacentuación discursiva que determinan en último término la (...) construcción de subjetividades. La noción de “imagen-red” busca poner de relieve las formas en las que la imagen digital ha propiciado el desarrollo de un nuevo pasaje de la imagen hacia un régimen representativo dominado por las ideas de intercambio autoinscripción cuyos ecos Level Five explora mediante el análisis de aspectos que van desde la dicotomía entre historia y memoria al papel de la imagen documental en la construcción de la realidad. This article analyzes the presence of a dialogic principle in the way subjectivities are constructed within Chris Marker’s Level Five, with a view to critically counteract the notion of Marker’s films as forms of the self-portrait. Through the Bakhtinian concept of “ideological becoming”, special attention is paid to the role played by new technologies of information and communication in the processes of re- accentuation which determine how subjectivities evolve in the context of the film. The concept of an “image-network” attempts to highlight the development of a new passage of the image towards a mode of representation dominated by a principle of exchange, whose importance is echoed in the film through the analysis of issues ranging from the dichotomy between memory and history to the relevance of documentary image for reality construction. RESUMENDesde su perspectiva nominalista, Dield sostiene que la utilidad de los enunciados matemáticos en el mundo físico no proporciona razones suficientes para creer que sean verdaderos; en realidad, las matemáticas no son algo que pueda evaluarse adecuadamente en términos de verdad o de falsedad. Por ello, tiene que negar la existencia de entidades matemáticas y rebatir la tesis de que estas entidades sean teóricamente indispensables. En su lugar, argumenta que la utilidad de las matemáticas puede justificarse solamente por su carácter (...) conservativo, esto es, que cualquier inferencia que pueda hacerse a partir de premisas nominalistas con su ayuda, podría haberse hecho sin ella. Cet article permet de saisir le contexte d’application des lois Ferry en Guadeloupe, et ses conséquences dans la formation d’un corps enseignant laïc, des années 1880 à 1914. Il analyse les tensions entre les partisans républicains, en particulier les socialistes, et les autorités coloniales, réactionnaires ou cléricales autour de la sécularisation du personnel des écoles primaires et ce qu’elles révèlent des antagonismes liés à la race, la classe et au genre dans la société coloniale. Cette étude s’appuie sur les résultats (...) du traitement informatique des dossiers de carrière des instituteurs et institutrices des écoles primaires publiques, et d’autres sources de type qualitatif (presse, rapport émanant de l’instruction publique, Annuaires de la Guadeloupe, Bulletin de l’enseignement primaire de la Guadeloupe et des dépendances (1899 à 1909), procès-verbal des réunions des professeurs du cours secondaire de jeunes filles de Pointe-à-Pitre, etc.), pour une compréhension plus fine des enjeux autour de la laïcisation des écoles primaires publiques, fréquentées par la population la plus défavorisée. The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, it deals with showing that Spinoza´s ontology is naturalistic because it conceives of reality as nature, and, in this way, it combats all form of mystification that presents us the reality as something supernatural and transcendent nature itself. Secondly, it deals with showing, according to characteristic features of Spinoza ´s naturalism, that is, its dynamism and its materialistic elements, that Spinoza´s ontology is an ontology of the passions. In this article I want to show the characteristic elements of the bio-politics in the developmentalist Francoism, from 1959 to 1975. For this, I will distinguish three fields of study – economic , health and the ideological – and I will analyze the most characteristic – disciplinaries and regulatories – bio-political devices for each of them. At the same time, the analysis of these devices will allow me to show the most distinctive elements of the governmentality of the last Francoism (...) , understanding this concept as “conduct of conducts” tried out by the Franco’s regime in this period. Finally, all of this will allow me to provide a new interpretation about the end of the Franco’s regime, indicating the effectiveness of its bio-political devices, and announce the birth of a new governmentality in Spain with the democracy arrival. Spanish translation of Henry of Ghent’s Sum, article 32, q. 4, the most important place in his work with regard to his opinion about Maimonides’ theory of the divine attributes.

The author interprets the dialogues belonging to Plato’s first Tetralogy, i. e. Euthyphro, Apology, Crito and Phaedo, as a coherent whole, in which the concept of ‘gratuitousness’ plays the leading role. The expression ‘gratuitous’ does not mean here, however, ‘arbitrary’ or ‘as someone likes’ but rather ‘free’, ‘gratis’, ‘for nothing’. Based on such an interpretation the author discusses then the important similarities existing between – on the one hand – Plato’s metaphysics of ‘gratuitousness’ and – on the other hand – (...) Meister Eckhart’s ‘mystics’ and Schelling’s Philosophy of Identity. These three thinkers are all interested in the world as it is not merely for us or for something else – that is not in the world as it merely appears to someone under particular given conditions –, but in the world as it is in itself. However, this distinction between ‘appearances’ and ‘things-in-themselves’ is not to be thought as an epistemological but rather as an ethical or existential one, which is not related to the way how we ‘can know’ the world but rather to the way how we ‘should live’ in it.
